Friends of Blue Mound State Park
Friends of Blue Mound State Park is a not for profit organization. We are a group of volunteers working together to benefit the park by enhancing and preserving its natural resources while offering activities and projects to improve the park guest's visit.
Past activities and contributions include:
- Contributed funds for the park entrance sign
- Prairie/savanna clean-up
- Coordinating the annual candlelight ski events
- Built shade structure at the pool
- Bike trail clean-up
- Contributed funds for ski trail grooming equipment
- Purchased and assisted in the building of a handicapped accessible cabin
- Wood splitting for firewood sales to campers
- Painting park picnic tables
- Contributed funds for exhibits in the park nature center
- Bridge and culvert repair on park trails
The Friends’ current major project is planning an ADA accessible, all-season shelter and learning center at the trail head area of the park. See "Current Project" page.
