7th Annual Trail Run Along the Willow
7th Annual 5K and 10K trail run.  A challenging trail run along the Willow River and through the woods and meadows of Willow River State Park.  T-shirt while supplies last - guaranteed with pre-registration.   Awards for 12 and under and Men & women - teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s,60 and over.

20th Colorama Run/Walk
The 20th Colorama Run/Walk and Smokey Bear Fun Run will be held on October 4th, 2008 at Homestead Hollow. The 5K run tours the middle level of the park; the 10K run follows the outer perimeter trail. The 5K/10K runs and 4K walk begin at 10:00am. The Fun Run, for participants 10 and under begins at 11:25 a.m. Run/walk participants receive a long sleeve, custom-designed T-shirt. Fun Run participants receive short sleeve T-shirts. Go to www.LaphamPeak Friends.org for a registration form or online registration. Race day registration at Homestead Hollow beginning at 8:00am. Food and refreshments will be available at a reasonable price.

HARVEST MOON FEAST & FESTIVAL
The Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area present the 4rd annual Harvest Moon Feast & Festival on October 10, 2008 at the Lussier Family Heritage Center 3101 Lake Farm Rd.  

Silent auction from 6:00-8:00 pm, and buffet dinner, from 6:00-7:30 pm. Prices for dinner with reservations are: $10/adult, $5/child, under 5 years old/free. At the door $12/adult, $6/child, under 5 years old/free.

Games 3-4:30 p.m.  Non-Haunted Hay Rides 3-5:00 p.m. Haunted Hay Rides 6:00-8:30 p.m. Last tickets sold at 8:30 p.m.  Hay rides $2.00 Games and face painting are free.  Food and drink concession available.  Free admission. Walk around the 1 mi pumpkin lit mound road. Naturalist Janna Misener will give presentation at 4:30. Starts at office picnic area
