Sammy Lee Davis served with Battery C, 2nd Battalion, 4th Artillery, 9th Infantry in Vietnam.
Mr. Davis was injured multiple times while defending his fellow gunners.For this completely selfish act of heroism, Mr. Davis was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Lyndon Johnson on November 19, 1968.
