Welcome to the Friends of Pike Lake website Fall Family Fun: September 11th, 2010
Perennial favorite Randy Peterson returns for the 12th annual Friends of Pike Lake Community Campfire and Concert. For this year’s Pike Lake performance, Randy will be doing his new "Beach Party" show. Expect tropical melodies, bright colors and maybe even a little surfing! The second half of the evening will be a "greatest hits" show of audience favorites from throughout his career.
The concert begins at 7:00 pm just north of the beach parking lot, accessible by turning south from State Highway 60 between Hartford and Slinger. The concert will move into the nearby shelter if it rains. During the concert, families will enjoy a bonfire, festive lighting and refreshments in the beautiful state forest setting. It's all free, though a state park sticker (seasonal or daily, available that evening) is required for parking. Audience members usually bring blankets or lawn chairs, though some picnic table seating is available.
The Friends of Pike Lake website is in the slow process of construction. Please check back from time to time for new developments.

Pike Lake Master Plan
The Wisconsin DNR is developing a master plan to guide possible future expansion of the Pike Lake Unit. Citizens attended an information and comment session on the plan in June, and another such meeting is planned for late summer or early fall, after refinement and revision of the plan.
This plan may be implemented in part or in whole over a number of years. Specific features of the plan may be reduced or adjusted before completion. Here is a link to the DNR page concerning the plan:

Friends of Pike Lake, Inc., a non-profit entity, supports the interpretive projects of Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. This volunteer organization is not part of the Wisconsin DNR, though the group supports the DNR’s local programs and works closely with park staff. Donations and sales of merchandise fund the group’s work. The Friends of Pike Lake, Inc. annually supports two community events -- the February candlelight ski/hike night and the September Community Campfire.
